I hate writing three star reviews, and only have written a few of them over the years, but I feel like I have to give my honest opinion on a book, no matter what. The book started off wonderful. I was engrossed with the storyline and the characters and honestly thought this book was going to blow be away...but then I got to the halfway point of the book and suddenly I wanted to stop reading.

First off, I didn't like how the main characters of this story didn't know what they wanted. The main male character acted like a playboy, never settling down, despite the internal conflict raging in his mind about Sara and his growing feelings for her. I'm sorry, but if you really cared about someone, you wouldn't keep sleeping with other women or flirting with them when you promised that special girl that she could trust you. I wanted to love his character, but even I didn't trust him!

Sara wasn't so innocent in this as well. She keep having "feelings" for her co-worker, who she barely knows, and kept playing with his feelings because she didn't know what she wanted and at the same time wanted to hurt Jack. I thought that was unfair to her co-worker, who was nothing but kind to her, and it was also juvenile.

At the end of this book, which ended a bit too predictably for my taste, I didn't care if they ended up together or not! They could have each other because they both appear to like misery and misery likes company.

I wished so badly that both characters would have opened their eyes and realized that their chemistry was worth all the fear in the world. That if they only communicated, and stop acting like children, running from all their problems, that they could of had something really special.

Although this book wasn't my cup of tea, I do think you should read this book for yourself and make up your own opinion about it. No two readers read the same book and who knows. You might love this book even if I didn't.

Floor Time Stewart Realty Book 1 edition by Liz Crowe Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Floor Time is a book by an author I really like. I hadn’t read any of her books before but we manage to connect via Facebook and she’s just such a genuinely nice person, I was excited and nervous to read some of her work. Why excited and nervous? Well, I’m always excited to read new work, but also nervous because I was warned there’s a bit of BDSM in Floor Time and that’s just not my thing. In all, it wasn’t exactly my kind of book, but it was still an enjoyable read.
Overall Rating 3.5 stars- Worth a few minutes before bedtime.

Floor Time is a weird book for me to explain my feelings on. I feel like I can list several things about it that I didn’t like, but it’s also really stuck with me, which is my sign of a good book.

“I need you to tell me I’m not losing my mind.”

Jack and Sara are real estate agents. Both are great at their jobs. I really like Sara as a heroine. Without giving anything away, she gets crapped on pretty badly at the beginning of the book (not related to Jack) and the way she handled it really made me proud.

Jack is sort of the every-alpha. Smart, sexy, successful, womanizing. But he’s also kind of…..nice. It’s hard to explain. He has this weird mix of cocky jerk and nice guy. I dug it.

So why do I have mixed feelings? Mostly in the story-telling. I felt like we had a lot of telling-not-showing. I wanted to see more interaction between Jack and Sara. Instead, we got a lot of Sara talking (to us) about things that happened before. It left me feeling less invested in the story than I like to be.

Also, Floor Time covers a pretty long span of time and I felt a little rushed through it. It seemed like I’d turn a page and suddenly a month had gone by. I felt like I was missing things.

That being said, I still enjoyed the smut (even if it was a little over my line of BDSM enjoyment) the characters and am curious enough to continue the series - especially because this is kind of a cliffhanger.

“You don’t need any other option baby. I’ve got everything you need.”

Smut Factor 4 stars- Smokin’ Hot! Character likability 4 stars- I wish we were friends. Storytelling 4 stars- Totally bought it. Writing and editing quality 3 stars - A few errors, but nothing that took away from the story.
I'll give it a 2.5 because there are a few hot scenes in it but I can't say I found Sara very likable- almost all of her issues were her own doing. Jack was only slightly better, but he was also kind of an idiot. Frankly, they deserve each other. The people with the most rounded character development were peripheral at best. Sara's brother was more of a controlling jerk than supportive brother, and I personally thought Craig was kind of creepy/pathetic. I was so frustrated with the whole thing that by the end- which kind of sneaks up on you that I could not manage any real enthusiasm for the sequel- I would have been irritated if I actually paid for this book but it is free on right now so there is that.

There was also very very light BDSM in it- I was expecting a little bit more based on the blurbs.

As for the mechanics of the narrative- while I do enjoy Liz Crowe's writing style- it is very fluid and brings a sense of realism to the book, the time jumps and a few sloppy transitions definitely mess with the pacing and make it a tad confusing at time.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!! Below I talk about one specific scene in this book that does not really change anything (part of the issue I have with it) but I do go into some detail. Fair warning all.

The other thing that bothered me was that the "attack" on Sara was completely unnecessary for this story. There was virtually no fallout from it, it did not effect any of her interpersonal relationships at all, and was there simply so Craig could "rescue" her. A fender-bender on a dark and stormy night or a break-in would have accomplished almost the exact same thing. I don't have problems with assault story lines if they are going to be served well...it is a very real issue that gets swept under the rug far too often but it deserves way more attention than it got in this book. There was no point to it, and using it as a way to make a comparison between 2 men was cheap. Pretty much from this point on this book was going to have to work really hard to be a good read for me. It did not succeed.
